Repair disk permissions

So after make a fresh install of mac osx leopard on my mac pro the another hardrives are having problems in disk permissions, some programs don't open the files because of permissions so there is a solution:

sudo chown -R username:staff /Volumes/diskname

you will need to put the password and replace  "username" by the your username and "diskname" by the volume name.

Use OSX Leopard Server 10.5 as a Client

I have a Mac Pro at home and I'm using a Macbook Pro on the street. I like to have server services for access, like VPN, iCalc Server, File Sharing, FTP, AFP. So instead to install all this services on Leopard client or make a dual boot with OSX Leopard Server. So i have install OSX Leopard Server as a primary OS and  i have all applications that i have use at OSX Leopard Client and everything seams to work so far.

One thing i have learned  is better to install and setup a primary account as Administrator, and later add a user account for work. so if you have any problems you login as a Administrator and resolve the problem instead of reinstall the OS.

For setup a good setup install Leopard Server as a Advanced and don't add any service. I have found a very good Tutorial to setup Leopard Server DNS and Open Directory:

After you do this you can add OSX Clients and to laptops a good thing to use is mobile account that will be in sync with the Server.

Another good series of video tutorials at iTunes Podcasts:

Sony Ericsson w880i on Leopard iSync

I just bought a cheap Sony Ericsson W880i (i would like to have a iPhone but is too expensive..) and would like to sync the phone with my mac.
But iSync don't support it.
So there is a solution without buy anything:

1- Download this plugin:
SonyEricsson-W880.phoneplugin.zip

2- Open Applications in finder, iSync right click - show package contents, open Contents/PlugIns
/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/
Contents/PlugIns

3- Unzip and copy the folder SonyEricsson-w880.phoneplugin to Contents/PlugIns
/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/PlugIns

4- Open iSync and add the w880i phone.

5- Thats all.
