Windows 7 64 bit on 2006 Mac Pro 1,1


I have successful installed Windows 7 on my 2006 Mac Pro 1,1. Apple says that isn't supported but in fact is. The main problem after install is to get the drivers. You can't install the drivers using the bootcamp installer because it says that isn't supported.

So copy the drivers folder to your desktop and then navigate to Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple you will find a BootCamp64.msi

To run it you need to have administration privileges, so run cmd.exe as administrator and navigate to Drivers\Apple them type:

msiexec /i BootCamp64.msi

It will start a massive drivers and software install, after reboot you will have a unsupported system run like a charm.

P.S. Get the drivers by inserting the Snow Leopard DVD on
Windows or get it from a torrent like this:
